Los Angeles based F-Spot Records is a label that you may or may be familiar with but if you’ve caught any of my DJ sets across the globe then you’ve surely danced to music from their catalog without knowing. A label that focuses on quality over quantity which makes for solid output of Soul, Jazz, Funk and global grooves. Their latest release coined “Eclectic Soul” from the West Coast collective known as The Bombillas. The Los Angeles group of musicians and friends come together to record their debut 45, “Tortuga” b/w “Kings Up“. The Bombillas conjure up a spacious new atmospheric sound drawing on inspirations from soul jazz, eastern flavors and organ funk. A cool double-sider recorded on 1/4” to produce a warm analog sound which sounds amazing on a hi-fi system and really sets you in to a zone.
