Over the years, Wu Tang Clan official affiliates Killah Priest and 4th Disciple have always held their own with their projects and stayed true to what they’ve been known for. But most recently, the duo have combined forces to drop a project that not only took us but surprise but comes as a very welcomed listen paying homage to the golden years of MC’s spitting vocals over a DJ rocking doubles. Don’t Sit On The Speakers is just that, classic breaks spun in an old school fashion with a sound that is reminiscent of park jams and club cassette tapes that circulated through out the city like circa 1981. Extra points to the duo for the incorporation of classic Worlds Famous Supreme Team Radio Show spots to keep it authentic. Don’t Sit On The Speakers also features guest vocals from Raekwon, Ghostface Killah and Cappadona.
This sounds so authentic, I might just have to record this cassette tape to make it an even more official listen.
