Is it easy or is it hard to choose 31 releases from 2017 to make up my 31 days in January list of records that you might have missed out on, slept on or need to reevaluate in your crates? The answer is yes and no…. There were more than a years worth of quality releases that dropped to choose from but with only 31 days to make the list happen, it’s difficult to figure out what to add on.  One release that I knew that needed to be on the list comes from Bardo Martinez and The Soul Investigators with “Bad Education” on Timmion Records.  A heavy Afro-latin funk, soulful heater that will shake your hips and your social consciousness and inspired by the likes of Joe Bataan and Ray Barretto.

Bad Education has been non stop in my rotation and a serious dance floor filler. If you don’t have this in your crates then you’re slipping!
