The So Ons – Tej b/w Short Shift

Transistor Sounds strikes with another hot iron out of the coal with a sweet mixed bag of goodness touching on varying highlights and soundscapes including 70s afro-psych and Ethiopian Jazz by way of sunny California and all of the vibrant rays that it has to offer. That’s exactly what you’ll hear when you drop the needle on The So Ons “Tej” b/w Short Shift new 7″ release that will surely fit nicely into your crates of accompanying sounds.  The So Ons core is comprised of a trio of friends who met in the fertile underground scene of the early 1980s but one thing that will surely stand out as noticeable is the horn section which is made up of former Antibalas trombonist AJ, the crack Extraordinaires (Charles Bradley) horn squad, and Kelly Finnigan on keys which makes it feel like a family reunion of sorts.
