Shaft: Imitation of Life #1

We’ve been thoroughly enjoying the Shaft storylines that have been coming out via publisher Dynamite Entertainment. When we first featured the initial issues dropping we couldn’t be more than happy that David F. Walker was doing the writing and they’ve been continuing on as a top read. Hitting stands this week is the latest in the brand, Shaft: Imitation of Life Part One.

“After a high profile case that put John Shaft in the headlines, the private detective is looking for something a bit on the lower profile side that will keep him out of the spotlight and danger. Shaft takes on a missing persons case that proves to be more difficult than he would’ve liked but that’s the nature of the business. At the same time, he is hired to be a consultant on a low budget film that may or may not be based on his life, and proves to be as dangerous as any job he’s ever had. But when there’s danger all about, John Shaft is the cat that won’t cop out – even if it means squaring off against sadistic gangsters that want him dead.” – Comic Book Resources
