There’s something to be said about DJ’s who take the time to pull from a stack of records to perfectly craft a mix that at first listen, obviously stands out from other DJ’s simply based on their eclectic tastes and non cliche’ selections. It’s those DJ’s both known and virtually unknown to the masses that music lovers are quick to tune into for a glimpse of what resides in those selected crates.
West Coast homie, Bay Area to be exact, Professor Brian Oblivion is one of those DJ’s who creates such moments by way of his mixes and DJ nights recently put together an all vinyl, free download mix titled “Autumn Skies” that represents his mood and nostalgia of the season.
“For as long as I can remember, Autumn has always carried with it a mix of joy and melancholy. A time of transition and reflection. The air is cool and crisp, the leaves are turning amber and scarlet, and there is a sense of calmness that’s familiar and comforting. This collection of songs encompasses those feelings of the season for me. The mix, presented here in two parts is my ode to Autumn.”
