Ahhh… a perfect way to start Friday morning and get ready for the weekend with the new release and accompanying video from Devils of Moko. The London-based jazz-electronic trio deliver an amazing second single with “Vata” which hints at a descent into the deep and gritty depths of fear, before emerging out the other side as something beautiful and light. As you can see in the above video, the introduction of Sam Gardner’s elastic breaks and Mulele Matondo’s bass groove add further layers, and the Devils’ key electronic component helps send ‘Vata’ soaring into uptempo crescendo.
We usually reserve our reviews for physical releases but Vata is just too good to and definitely a good day starter. Besides, good music to be shared so we’re doing our part in doing just that!
