Skeme Richards Featured in Sigma Sound Studios Article

Philadelphia is a city that I carry on my shoulders whenever I travel the globe and try to inject it’s rich history, culture and musical influence into my sets in cities and countries near and far. Local music journalist John Morrison who has written for quite a few esteemed publications recently wrote an article for The Key on WXPN about the legendary Philadelphia recording studio, Sigma Sound Studios which was founded in 1968 by engineer Joe Tarsia. “Many of the most impactful songs recorded at Sigma were the classic Philly Soul tunes produced by the duo of Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff and released on their label Philadelphia International Records” which John Morrison covers nicely in the article and references my Japan exclusive Philadelphia International Records tour CD as well as a quote about how the project came about.

The article “Six incredible songs recorded at Sigma Sound Studios” dives into a handful of must know songs that were recorded in the studio from the likes of The Stylistics, Erykah Badu and more. To read the full article and to get familiar with the history of the studio head over to WXPN here.
