It’s been a minute since I’ve touched down in Los Angeles but with cities open once again, I knew that LA was a place that I needed to revisit and what better time to enjoy things, see people, eat and of course dig a little while joining the homie David Zylberman aka Ghost for his Searching For Soul party. Spending 3 short days meant that I needed to fit a lot in during a short period of time but I’d say mission was definitely completed.
Was great to hit a few record and comic shops like Twelves in Long Beach and The Comic Cellar for the gems, I always love being in other cities and coming up on things that I haven’t found locally. Of course being out and digging all day means working up an appetite so of course the recommendation from Hector at Twelves to grab tacos at La Chancla came right on time and didn’t disappoint. After hitting Little Tokyo to check out some vintage Japanese toy spots and grab sausages and fries at Wurstküche it was time for soundcheck at The Love Song Bar for SEARCHING FOR SOUL with Ghost and Spence which turned out to be a great Thursday night but more on that in my next update.
And with a blink of an eye and before I knew it, it was Saturday which meant grab breakfast before catching an early afternoon flight home before packing another record back for a rare Twitch guest appearance on the Record Breakin’ Jazz Cats Raid Train Sunday afternoon. A much needed getaway and even much more need extended Memorial Day weekend.
