Pam’s Coffy, Quentin Tarantino’s New Shop Dedicated To Pam Grier

There’s no denying that Quentin Tarantino who is one of my favorite writer / directors, always goes the extra mile when he’s involved in projects. From bringing his personal visions to his own written and directed films, to owning the historic New Beverly Cinema where he only screens 35mm and 16mm prints to know recently purchasing another historic theater, the Vista Theater. He is one of the very few in the film world who are actually finding ways to preserve the film culture that he loves so much. Purchasing and revitalizing the Vista Theater is amazing and now adding onto the theater, he’s diving into the world of coffee where he’s opened a little shop next door called Pam’s Coffy. Originally he would name the space simply Coffy but after connected with legendary actress Pam Grier, he decided to give it full branding as a dedication to the actress and naming it, Pam’s Coffy.

Inside and out, you can instantly tell that this a is the brainchild of Tarantino himself in the way that it is laid out with all of the touches from the film lover. From the branding which boasts the beautiful face of Pam in her starring role as Coffy to the oversized movie posters from his collection which can also be found displayed nicely in both of his theaters to the vintage 70’s TV’s playing films from the 1970’s on VHS. But a coffee shop wouldn’t be what it is if they didn’t serve coffee right? Pam’s Coffy keeps things local and serves Tarantino’s custom blend that is made by Jones Coffee Roasters in Pasadena. You’ll find various signature blends on the menu with flavor options as well as cafe au lait and chai tea. Handling the small bites department is another local company, Cake Monkey which is a bakery that serves up a selection of hand-held pies, scones, miniature cakes and pies by the slice. The big kid in me might very well like the cereal option the most where you can gfab a big bowl for $5 and sit and enjoy what’s playing on television. Hopefully on Saturday mornings they’ll have cartoons playing!

Pam’s Coffy is located at 4473 Sunset Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90027. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Sunday.
