Over the last decade there have been quite a few previously unreleased tunes on various labels that have found their way to our crates, most being recorded during the 1960’s and 1970’s but rarely do we find ourselves listening to something more recent and from 2012 to be exact which is the case with the upcoming previously unreleased single by Al Broomfield. Recorded before his passing, “One Equals The Sum of Love” b/w “Running To Your Love” is a double-sider of pure soul from a singer who definitely possessed a golden voice. There is an obvious difference between a singer like Broomfield who actually has a voice and has obviously honed in on his talent over the years versus many singers of today that can’t necessarily carry a note. Pure class from Al Broomfield in every way.
IZIPHO SOUL has recently joined forces with Florida’s celebrated Broomfield musical family to present two previously unreleased gems from the late, great Al Broomfield. Recorded in 2012, these superb tracks showcase Al’s outstanding voice against beautifully crafted productions, offering a compelling reminder of his exceptional talent. His vocals take centre stage, with backing vocals from Dee Dee Wilde adding a further touch of class. On ‘Running To Your Love’, a saxophone solo from Vince Broomfield completes an irresistible combination. A fitting celebration of Al Broomfield’s musical legacy and an essential addition to any discerning soul collection.
