A few weeks back while in Seattle playing the DUG 10 year anniversary party, Supreme La Rock and myself made a trip over to Bellevue to sit in on the Mega Booty & Funkscribe Presents radio show to talk about the anniversary, world travels and of course, records. While there, the homie Funkscribe who just happens to run local label We Coast Records blessed us with a few releases from his label including the latest which just dropped this week by The True Loves. “The Dirty” b/w “Mary Pop Poppins aka M.P. Poppins” is a taste of Northwest funk with all of the necessary elements, heavy on the drums which always makes nice for those open breaks, blazing horns, with a fill of gritty guitar and bass to tie everything together. If you’re looking for that local flair with world wide appeal to play in your next set, then check out what The True Loves have to offer.
