There’s a great feeling as a DJ to play music for an audience before it’s official release and have people questioning what it is then finally seeing it drop and being excited to tell your readers (and fellow DJs) what you’ve been playing almost exclusively with the exception of DJ’s like Mo Manley. What we have here on this beautiful Saturday afternoon is the latest drop on the Funk Night Records label from someone who I consider to be one of the hardest working composers in the industry right now, Misha Panfilov Sound Combo. His latest works takes us into territories that would typically be from opposite ends of the spectrum but work so well here. “Bufo Bufo” b/w “Bystreet” are once again incredible works from this Estonian musical master who thinks outside of the box and pulls inspiration from various places and spaces which aren’t necessarily genre specific.
