Souled Out At The Trestle Inn

Fun times as usual last night at The Trestle Inn and it was an even more exciting time with the addition of my brother Scarce One from Köln Germany who joined me in the booth to play for a packed house. The day started out great with the sun shining and warm temps but just an hour before kick off time, the skies opened up and the rain came down which can either make or break the night. Lucky for us, right at the moment it was time to drop the needle, the skies cleared and a line of people formed outside waiting to get in.  After the needle drop, it was go time and the lovely Trestle Specials Go Go Dancers took to the box and gave the people a show.

Throughout the night, Scarce One and myself took the people on the musical journey of funk & soul sounds with a few Latin and even funky reggae tunes. Closing out the is always a pleasure for me as I get to drop sweet soul tunes in the mix for the Trestle Specials to wind down to and always takes me back to basement house parties and the Quiet Storm radio show on radio back in the 80’s. It’s usually only once a year that I get to rock with my brother Scarce which is during out Butta 45’s Germany / Switzerland tour each year so it was great to have him here in the city.

Thanks again to everyone who came out to rock with us and kick their weekend off at a place as special and unique as The Trestle Inn. For those of you that missed out, here are few from the playlist that had the floor in a frenzy (all original pressings of course).
