The always busy, never sleeping Sheffield, UK based producer Chairman Maf is never one for the cliche’ when it comes to releasing his instrumental albums of deep beats and sample selections. Over the years, Chairman Maf has dropped some of our favorite projects that have gotten heavy spins here at Nostalgia King but his newest project, “Butternut” might very well be our favorite to date.
Making it his 8th full length album mixes psychedelia, gospel, and Chinese influences, with live instrumentation and heavyweight cinematic samples that will transport you to another dimension which is exactly right up our alley. We love oddball samples and soundbites from films that make us dig deeper to find out where they came from especially since we consider ourselves film and soundtrack aficionados here at Nostalgia King.
