Ruth E. Carter First Black Woman To Win Two Oscars

With all of the hype surrounding this years Oscars and who won, who got snubbed, who is upset, there seems to be very little talk (at least on my timelines) about Ruth E. Carter who is the first Black woman to win two Oscars. Carter is a legendary costume designer who won this year for her work in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and previously won for her work in the original Black Panther film. Carter has been nominated a total of four times in her career which includes nominations for Malcolm X, Amistad, and both Black Panther Films. The only other Black persom to have won two is Denzel Washington who won his first Oscar for Glory (1990) and Best Actor for Training Day (2001).
