On May 20th I make a return visit to Nashville to celebrate Soul Brother #1, James Brown’s birthday with a special funk filled affair and star studded lineup of performers at The 5 Spot. For the occasion, Nashville’s premier funk band, The Gripsweats will be providing the backing with special vocal performance tributes to James by the King of Funk, Rickey Calloway, Joey Richey, Kieth Proffitt, Savannah, Gojo Ko and Eli Paperboy Reed.
Definitely an affair not to be missed! So Nashville stand up and let’s celebrate the man and the reason why we have the funk that we have.
