The one they call Jorun Bombay is back yet again with another double-sided sure shot to pique your nostalgic side and bring you into 2024. This go around, the rework master takes on one of our favorite James Brown productions and makes it his own in a very funky way. “Our Thang” is the instrumental revisit of a classic JB funk tune with extra guitar work, trombone solo and vibraphone (courtesy of Jorun’s “Espressolites” band) giving the tune a new breath of life and color. We’re not usually fans of tinkering with already perfect classics but Jorun doe it justice and tweaks just the right elements to make it perfect.
“Phungry” instrumentally combines a 90’s Hip Hop classic together with reggae vocals in the same musical key. You never heard it like this before! The perfect addition to your record crate that will sit comfortably next to your original version of “Passing me By” and will musically blend perfectly with it.
