This past weekend was another one for the books at VinylCon in Philly where record dealers we in full on sell mode and diggers where there for scoring their favorite and sought after records while being turned onto ones that they weren’t previously familiar with. But record conventions aren’t always about vintage crates and from time to time there are dealers who just happen to be artists and musicians themselves selling their on projects and releases which is the case with the “What I Was Doing While We Drifted Apart” LP from Philly’s Love City DJs.
Love City DJs has been a fixture here in the city as both a DJ and producer for quite sometime and his 2024 album reflects a style that’s perfectly fitting in every way. The sounds are a combination of electronic compositions and from time to time a slight library’esque feel which eases it’s way through the speakers capturing soundscapes and dynamics that feel expansive while taking up it’s own moments in time.
