Monday is always the day that I like to get my balance back after the weekend and usually find myself taking things slow, catching up on emails and of course diving into promo that has arrived in the post over the last few days. It’s also the day where I enjoy the a musical reset and that usually begins with something instrumental to guide me along. With the first needle drop of the day while I enjoy a hot cup of cinnamon mango tea comes pure inner peace with the sounds of Omni-Gatherum, the new release by Sylvan Tirelle out now on Funk Night Records.
Omni-Gatherum is a full instrumental LP and self indulgent project by Tirelle who took the deep dive to write, perform and record a masterpiece in every sense of the word. It’s cinematic, it has passion, it’s forward moving yet takes inspiration from the past while combining it all together to give the listener something magical. What we need is more music that has maximum replay value, music that feels timeless although it’s rather new and that’s what Omni-Gatherum gives us, enjoyment in the present while pulling it from the shelves later to enjoy as if we’re visiting an old friend.
