Skeme Richards @ Darling By Sean Brock

I had an amazing time a few weeks back in LA for VinylCon weekend where the sun was shining, the human energy and interactions were great and of course the food and records never disappoint. With a full weekend on the schedule, it was only right that I finally get to experience the new Darling restaurant opened by good friend, world reknown chef, music lover and all around good human being, Sean Brock. I met Sean some years back at his Nashville establishment and instantly knew that when it came to food, vinyl and culture, he was the genuine article. His new restaurant, Darling in West Hollywood is exactly what I would expect from Sean, it’s well thought out in the space, design and arrangement, the menu is top-notch and very unique and of course, as music lover and vinyl collector, the Hi-Fi sound system takes center stage when you enter the space.

There were two things that I knew that I needed to experience while there and Sean knew exactly what they both were. One, I needed to play a long set of Jazz, Jazz-funk and Rare Groove on the beautiful setup and two, as a burger connoisseur I needed to try the Darling Dry-Aged Steak Burger. With only 24 of them made per night, I made sure to get my order in early and it was exactly what I expected from a guy who prides himself in making one of the best burgers around. It was absolutely perfect in every way as was the service and complete hospitality of the staff.

Darling By Sean Brock is something special and now with the opening of their brunch service, this is definitely the must visit when in town.
