Our friends over at Rocafort Records are back with another amazing slab of afro funky goodness by Konkolo Orchestra who we’ve been championing here since their debut single on the label which has continuously been a heavy spin for us. After their full length “Future Pasts” made its introduction to the world, Konkolo Orchestra has become known on dance floors worldwide. Their upcoming single carries on their same signature sound and keeps our feet moving and heads nodding with what we would consider a double A-sider.
Built around an infectious disco-inspired groove, driving basslines and uplifting horn arrangements, Jikijela embraces a more dancefloor-oriented sound while remaining rooted in the band’s unmistakable identity. The B-side features a 45 edit of the digital single “Grass Ain’t Greener” making its debut on vinyl and perfectly complementing the energy of the A-side.
