Independent Orchestra – IO 2

When it comes to knowing and understanding what sounds amazing in the realms of library and soundtrack music, there are few names that I truly trust when taking their opinions and recommendations on what I should be hipped to. It takes a special ear and person who has spent hours of quality time loving and appreciating the sounds and what make them special. One of those names who tops the list is Mike Wallace, DJ, musician and historian who recently called me up to tell me about a new release that I needed to hear and be in the know of. Within a matter of days, a test pressing arrived in the post from San Diego via Stockholm Sweden of the latest release from Independent Orchestra titled “IO 2”.

Before dropping the needle down, I instantly knew I would love the sounds that would be filling the room and I was correct! “IO 2” is an absolute masterpiece of musicianship that checks all of the boxes for those who enjoy the aesthetics of library, soundtracks and jazz. A perfect 10 track LP where each title fits the sound and theme perfectly and each one takes you on a magical journey of soundscapes that piques your imagination. This is truly one of those releases that will become a future dig of tomorrow if you drop the ball today.

Highly recommended for those with high standards in audio listening experiences.
