Adam West Remembered

As time keeps passing and heroes become older, life eventually comes to a close as the curtain comes down and the final act is performed, sadly to never live again.  Today another icon in the film, television and comic world has passed away and we here at Nostalgia King are saddened by the loss.  Actor Adam West, known for donning the cape and cowl of the DC comic hero on the TV show Batman has passed away at the age of 88.  West starred in William Dozier produced Batman series which aired on television from 1966 to 1968, the feature length film as well as the two part crossover in The Green Hornet series which starred Bruce Lee as Kato.  He also did voice over work in the Filmation animated series The New Adventures of Batman, The Batman / Tarzan Hour, Super Friends, The Legendary Super Powers Show and more recently playing himself on The Simpsons and Family Guy.

He also did guest shots on some of our favorite television series including Maverick, Diagnosis: Murder, Love, American Style, Bonanza, The Big Valley, Night Gallery, Alias Smith and Jones, Mannix, Emergency!, Alice, Police Woman, Operation Petticoat, The American Girls, Vega$, Big Shamus Little Shamus, Laverne & Shirley, Bewitched, Fantasy Island, The Love Boat, Hart to Hart, Zorro, The King of Queens and George Lopez. West was also in an episode of Bonanza that supposedly never aired until reruns were shown. He also made several guest appearances as himself on Family Feud.
