It’s great to see small independent labels reaching out and working with bands and artists not usually from within their circle, under the radar from the masses and often times residing in other countries. Some of the best music ever created came from artists with different backgrounds collaborating together to create a magic.
“Formed in late-2016, Saint Petersburg, Russia’s “The Vicious Seeds” got to work, bringing their heavy, guitar-driven funk to the people. For music lovers and dancers alike, this guitar/bass/drums/percussion unit ditched their punk past and dove headfirst into the sounds of 1970’s Library Music (Music owned by labels and created specifically to place as background tracks for TV, radio, and film projects). What came out of their studies was some hard-driving funk with catchy hooks that’ll keep you coming back for more.
During the 2017 New Year holiday, The Vicious Seeds hunkered down in an underground recording studio to lay down their brand new, old-school sound onto 4-track tape. Here, from Lugnut Brand Records is their debut recording. Sneaker Collector b/w African Spy, is sure to delight the hardcore funk-heads as well as the DJ set. Cratediggers be warned! This set is fire!”
