Funk Night never fails to release a tune at the perfect time and yet another that I’ve been playing out for quite sometime via white label promo. The new 7″ from The M-Tet, a West Coast band that we’ve covered here before at Nostalgia King features a cover of “Pick and Shovel” an underplayed tune in our opinion but nicely done here in a crisp, loud fashion which makes it ideal for playing out which it definitely did while I was out on the Butta 45s Germany tour. The flip “Your Friendly Neighborhood Serial Killer” gives us more of what the band is known for, heavy organ grooves and this time on the slower side and deep in every way.
