From time to time I stumble upon something fresh that really catches my attention that I feel like I should write about. I’ve always loved art of all sorts but when art meets anime in a very unique way, I’m all eyes and ready to dive in. I recently came across an Italian artists by the name of Fabrizio Spadini who paints large scale canvases of period pieces but often times includes subject matter from the modern era. One of those subjects that really caught my attention was the inclusion of Japanese characters including Go Nagai’s Mazinger, Goldrake, Macross and other animated and manga series from the Show Era of Japan. Fabrizio Spadini’s art seems to combine two worlds that are a rather perfect setting as one which is really thinking outside of the box.
