Timmion Records has done it once again with another amazing soul 45 that’s ready to work the dance floor and further extend their discography as one of the finest independent labels in the world with he debut 45 by Jeb Loy Nichols. Born in Wyoming, not necessarily the place you would expect to hear about on the soul charts and now residing on the Welsh countryside, Jeb Loy Nichols has a voice and his debut double-sider is showing his range.
Teaming up with the Timmion production team of Cold Diamond & Mink, the A-side “Can’t Cheat The Dance” has a very country-like soulful flavor to it that stands out from other soul 45’s that we’ve heard over the years yet completely works and will surely be a dance floor favorite as well as one we’d love to see performed live. The B-side slows things down with “We Gotta Work On It” and let’s Jeb’s vocals stand tall over top of a minimal acoustic backing that lays in the cut while he delivers a message of putting your best foot forward and pushing on.
