The King Rooster – Snake Bait

11 releases in and 45 Live Records closes the year out with news on their upcoming release that opens 2022 in a great way. The King Rooster is one of our favorite bands that have made the rounds recording on several different labels and spreading their sound so it’s only right that they bring it home and make their debut on 45 Live Records with a tough double-sider.

The organ heavy, funk quartet is made up Ian Stevens on bass and Mark Claydon on drums (both from another heavy funk band – The Getup), Sam Montero on keys and James Forster on guitar absolutely smash it with the uptempo floor filling “Snake Bait” which is a whopping, head swirling explosion that gets right into it with no frills. If you’ve been following the band then you already know that they check all the right boxes.

The b-side features “Stickin’ It” which channels their inner inspiration from the New Orleans greats, The Meters with a raw bluesy feel and mid tempo grit to make this a well rounded 45 and crate essential.
