Village Live announces the forthcoming release in their 45 series from Afro Gitano. Music Where Continents Collide and the Dance Floor Ignites. Featuring two tracks where the rhythms of Africa meet the fire of Gypsy soul, all powered by a healthy shot of classic hip hop grooves.
Afro Gitano is the meeting point of three acclaimed musicians whose backgrounds span continents and cultures. Guitarist and composer Toni Kitanovski (Cherkezi Orchestra, ENJA Records), Malian griot Baba Sissoko (master of the tamani and long-time collaborator with artists from Ibrahim Ferrer to the Art Ensemble of Chicago), and international DJ/producer DJ Goce (who has toured alongside Gang Starr Foundation and shared the stage with Mobb Deep, De La Soul, and more) join forces to create a sound where African rhythms, Gypsy soul, and classic hip hop collide.
Each brings decades of experience and their own musical lineage, yet together they form a group greater than the sum of its parts. From film scores and contemporary dance commissions to festival stages, Afro Gitano’s music is a cultural crossroads – fiery, groove-heavy, and designed to ignite the dancefloor.
