Jeffery Scott Greer – Volume Four

Easing into this cold but sunny Sunday morning and doing my usual sorting out of what to prepare for breakfast and what musical selection should be the complimentary backdrop to get the day going. In this case I needed something new and previously unheard, something that would capture my attention and do a rewind, which is exactly the case with the latest release by Jeffery Scott Greer and his Volume Four LP. Greer has been a mainstay in our rotation every since catching wind of him back in 2021 with his debut trilogy release “Schematics For A Blank Stare” which consisted of 3 separate LP releases. His latest simply titled “Volume 4” is a deep dive into all things cinematic, psychedelic and jazzy to give the listener a much needed and well rounded listening experience. With the exception of guitar, Greer played every instrument on this release as with previous so you’re sure to get his vision of what the perfect album sounds like from his perspective. One of the things that we really love about Jeffery Scott Greer is his less is more approach with recording which this entire project with recorded direct to a Tascam 244 recorder and it sounds absolutely amazing.
