There’s always something to be said about people who go the extra mile to find artists who are virtually unknown yet have previously released music that has flown under the radar for 35+ years. The amount of legwork, research and countless hours spent sending emails and making phone call that goes to solving mysteries is not for the weak and there are obviously on a few that fit the criteria. One of most amazing stories in record research history came via the homie Mr. Chinn and The Sound Council with what was once an obscure recording by Chuck Bynum who recorded it in the 1990’s while in prison at the California Institution for Men in Chino. The story how Chuck was found then disappearing then found again over the course of a few years, covid and other unexpected happenings shows just the type of dedication it takes to make things happen.
