It’s rather hard to fathom that time is flying by as fast as it is and there’s so many things that seem like they just happened yesterday and that can either be a good thing or a good thing (we believe in the positives in life over here at Nostalgia King). Most of that type flying by is definitely because we’ve been enjoying the journey over the years and but another major part is that there has been so much music, art and creativity that has been released that continues to keep us fulfilled with joy. One of the labels that we’ve seen grow from the very beginning is Big Crown Records who has given us an incredible amount of music that has filled our DJ sets, at home enjoyment and playlist rotations. This year the label celebrates their 10th anniversary and for the occasion they’re releasing BCR10 – Ten Years of Big Crown Records, a compilation LP featuring some of lineup of titles that have helped to shape the label over the years.
A lot can happen in 10 years, and a lot did. From very humble origins, Big Crown has become one of the most respected independent imprints in the world with an incredibly talented international roster and an incomparable catalog of timeless music. Leon Michels & Danny Akalepse opened the doors at Big Crown in 2016 with a simple ethos: put out good music they believe in regardless of genre.
BCR10 – Ten Years of Big Crown Records is somewhere between a retrospective and a state of affairs, tried-and-true gems from the back catalog mixed with rock-solid tunes from the newest records.
