It’s been quite sometime since I’ve been excited about the return of a series but Lupin: Part 4 is one that I’ve been anticipating since the season ended with part 3 back in 2023. It’s been 3 years and I honestly didn’t know if it would even make a return especially with the way streaming channels cancel shows randomly. As a longtime fan of the Japanese animated series, live action version set in Paris has nailed every aspect making it a must watch. Even Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 98%.
The French mystery thriller stars Omar Sy in the role of Assane Diop, a man who is inspired by the adventures of master thief Arsène Lupin, a character created by Maurice Leblanc in the early 1900’s. The series was watched by 76 million households during its first month, becoming the most-watched non-English series on Netflix at the time.
Lupin debuted to critical acclaim, with Sy’s performance in the leading role singled out for particular praise. It has received several accolades, winning a Critics’ Choice Award for Best Foreign Language Series and being nominated for Best Drama Series at the International Emmy Awards and Golden Globes.
