ATA Records – The Galata Extraction b/w The Two Akiras

ATA Records sliding through to deliver something amazing for Library music lovers as well as those who just love funky drums who dig just a little bit deeper to find what keeps their crates stocked with gems with their upcoming release.

The Two Akiras (Synth Mix, No Melody) — another gem from Vol. 4, stripped down to fuzz bass, pounding drums, percussion, and dimension-bending synths. (analogue only)

With four killers on one slab, this is a must for DJs, collectors, and breakbeat heads. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Standout single from The Library Archives Volume 4, The Galata Extraction sets the mood for a Levantine thriller, with classic exotic sounds reminiscent of the Eastern Mediterranean region. The dumbek-reminiscent bongos swirl around a driving disco pulse of kit and handclaps, and the melodies come in psychedelic waves; first, an action-packed unison guitar and Farfisa riff, then a winding melody on the Farfisa alone, and finally a jangling reverb of overdriven guitar that’s almost gothic. It’s a little treasure house of a track, as full of bright things as a Moroccan souk, and the promise of mystery and adventure stays with you long after the track has finished.
