Tsubaraya Productions celebrates the 60th anniversary of one of Japanas most iconic television series and franchises, Ultraman with a new series in their franchise as well as various special events. One of the events that we’re excited about seeing is the Nazuka curated “SHUWATCH with U” artists reimagining exhibition at Parco Museum Tokyo.
For the exhibition, artists like Stickymonger, Roby Dwi Antono, Jean Julien and others reimagine their takes on the legendary Ultraman character from the 1966 series. If you grew up watching this series then you will indeed enjoy the artists works and takes on the Ultraman figure.
“This work is a small altar to my childhood memories of Ultraman. I saw him not merely as a hero I watched, but as the light that quietly sculpted my imagination,” said Roby Dwi Antono.
“Our yearning for Ultraman does not end as a mere memory,” added Ryunosuke Okazaki. “The physical gestures that entered my body through childhood play are still repeated within my creative process today. I want to treat that repetition not as simple nostalgia, but as a continuous duration of prayer.”
The exhibition runs through August 3rd
