It’s been a long 3 weeks abroad and on my Germany tour with a few stopovers in Switzerland and Amsterdam so I’m still mentally in international mode with what I want to eat and the music that I’ve been listening to. Typically when traveling in Europe, my listening experience changes as I try to listen to more artists and labels that fit my international DJ of mystery mode so when I got wind of the upcoming album by Andrei Nikolsky, I knew it would be the perfect welcome home and first thing I listened to.
Introducing the sophomore album, Music For Terminals by Andrei Nikolsky that sets the tone as the perfect international theme music for those who are moving from terminal to terminal, whether it be airport or train station. Music For Terminals is heavily influenced by soundtrack and library music from the past including one of Nikolsky’s hero’s, John Cameron (Kes, KPM, Bruton) who is featured on the album. The record is an assortment of outré electronics (Siren Call, Squeaks And Bleeps), modal jazz (Swiftly, Waltz For Someone) and wonky disco (Line Stepper, The Shuffle). Something for the whole family to enjoy.
