Whenever traveling to distant destinations, I always make it a priority to hangout with the locals and visit places that aren’t on the tourist map that most foreigners are accustomed to following. Prior to my first time visiting Brazil, the only imagery that I had was what I saw from photos that people had taken on their recent trips which usually consisted of beautiful woman, food or other touristy attractions but rarely those from a locals sight of view. While in Rio working for Red Bull on their BC One event, I had the opportunity to explore the streets by walking around and taking in the day to day of how the locals operate which is much different than what is advertised from the tourism bureau.
