Welp, there’s no denying that 2018 is in full swing with vinyl releases from some of the names in the business that have really held it down for the last few years. The latest of to hit the Colemine Records record bins comes from Los Angeles based collective, Mestizo Beat with their blending of styles consisting of Afro-beat, Afro-Cuban, Funk, and R&B. Their debut release on the label takes on Mongo Santamaria’s “Featherbed Lane” and reintroduces it to an audience in their own fashion and one that’s perfect for the dance floor.
