Moby To Sell Vintage Drum Machines For Charity

Moby has been making a lot of new this past year with purging some of what made him who he is. Early this year he sold off his record collection as well as his incredible collection of synthesizers. In an everything must go sale, Moby will now be letting go of his rare and vintage analog drum machine collection, close to 200 in total with all monies going to Physicians Committee For Responsible Medicine which is a charity that he works with. Among these gems are the always beloved Roland TR-909 that he bought in the early 1990s at Rogue Music in New York City, Chamberlin Rhythmates, TR66 Rhythm Arranger, PAIA Electronics 7701K Drummer Boy, a 1970s MXR Drum Computer and more.

Press release excerpt

“I’ve always been a little obsessed with drum machines, in fact, I’ve always been a lot obsessed with drum machines. Over the years, I presumptuously believe that I have come up with the largest collection of analog drum machines in the world. There are hundreds of them and I loved each and every one of them. I hope that if you buy them, you love them as much as I did. Please take care of my babies.”

Drum machines will go on sale October 11th at https://reverb.com/shop/official-moby
