One thing that I miss are the days where unlikely bands would do cover versions of TV and movie theme songs that everyone would know but adding their own twist to them to make them uniquely theirs. One of most famous themes in TV history is without a doubt, M*A*S*H. Love or hate the series, it’s a catchy tune that’s been covered more than a few times, some good and some not as good but there are a few that really standout as amazing cuts. A pair of the notables that have taken on the job of covering the theme comes from the likes of Roy Ayers who featured it on his “Change Up The Groove” LP and the Patrick Williams 12″ “Theme From M.A.S.H. Both artists who add their own Jazz-funk spin on a classic and make them required listening.
