When it comes to our list of labels that hustled in 2018, Saint Petersburg, Russia’s Spasibo Records delivered a nice series of 45’s that you either know about or not. Still flying relatively under the radar, we’ve been spinning tunes from their catalog since their debut release with The Soul Surfers back in 2015. Since then, they’ve been pushing their brand of Russian funk, while opening their doors to international artists to help build a healthy catalog of music. In 2018 we saw releases from Scone Cash Players, The Soul Surfers & Shawn Lee, Greg Goat Group, Stance Brothers and a 45 featuring works by Soviet era composer, Zinoviy Birtman which are released for the very first time.
2019 is around the corner and personally knowing the label owners, they are dedicated to bringing great music ranging from Soul-jazz to Funk, Hip Hop to Library and all things that represent their passion and sound.
