Making their debut on the label is the self titled release by New Zealand’s Drosan and it’s a heavy listen especially for lovers of the sound of Jazz in present day. This genre-blending 9-track album journeys through modern-day jazz and jazz-fusion, laced with elements of hip-hop and the spirit of 70s experimental fusion. Drawing influence from legends like Chick Corea, Charly Garcia, Astor Piazzolla, and Luis Alberto Spinetta, as well as contemporary trailblazers like Yussef Dayes, Ezra Collective, and Kamaal Williams, DROSAN deliver a sound that’s rich, cinematic, and fresh.
