DeRobert & The Half-Truths – 100 Yard Dash

Let’s talk about a stormer of a 45 by DeRobert & The Half-Truths which recently arrived in the post via Nashville last week and has been in heavy rotation ever since dropping the needle down the very first time. Absolute madness that had me on full tilt energetically bouncing around the house with speakers on blast. Off of their upcoming LP, “100 Yard Dash” is perfectly produced uptempo soul, that’s raw around the edges and hits you like a 100 pound sack of goodness.

DeRobert sings about fighting a losing battle with inner demons, lack of progress in the world, minding your-own-damn business and struggling through life’s tribulations. The band is on point with tight arrangements and a no frills production style. Using just drums, bass, guitar, keys, horns and vocals, this album is a great representation of the bands high energy live shows and aesthetic.
