Takashi Yamazaki’s Godzilla Minus Zero

November 3rd is widely known as Godzilla day and news landed right on time with the announcement of the next Godzilla movie, Godzilla Minus Zero directed by Takashi Yamazaki who will once again direct and handle all of the visual effects for the upcoming film.

Takashi Yamazaki, the visionary director, screenwriter, and VFX artist who propelled Godzilla Minus One to international acclaim with a historic Academy Award win for Best Visual Effects, is taking on a new chapter in the Kaiju saga. At the Godzilla Fest 2025 event, held on Godzilla Day in Tokyo’s Kanadevia Hall, the long-awaited title for his upcoming project was finally revealed: Godzilla Minus Zero.

Yamazaki is recognized as one of Japan’s leading VFX pioneers, having been deeply inspired by cinematic classics like Star Wars and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Continuing a personal tradition from his previous work, the director personally drew the film’s striking title logo, a powerful design etched in bold brush strokes.

No release date or details about the film have been announced at this time, but we’re sure that it will be another amazing film in the Godzilla franchise.
