It’s been an amazing two weeks traveling across Germany with Scarce One and Selecta M on this years tour and touching down in Erfurt, St. Gallen (CH), Leipzig, Köln, Nüremberg and Hamburg. Each night was one for the books with a great crowd in attendance and it was great to meet some new people along the way as well as catching up with some old ones. Thursday night in Köln kicked off the second week of gigs playing at Buhmann & Sohn and put together by the homie Eugene Rockwell who threw it soundclash style with each DJ rotating 15 min sets. The DJ lineup featured a few of the cities finest DJ / collectors including Basti, Marius Ruhrmann and Webster. A packed Thursday that went until 4am is definitely a good sign for the rest of the nights. Thank you to all of the venues, promoters, organizers, hosts and restaurants that really took care of us and making sure things ran smooth.
Friday it was a 6hr drive to Nüremberg to play at Blok right in the city center which was a great venue play. Opening the night in rotation alongside the Butta 45’s squad was Rick le Fleur (Boogie Down The House) who played a great set of Funk, Modern Soul and Disco joints that keep things flowing along with the usual mix of Butta 45’s staples and classics. After a solid 6 hours of sleep, it was time for another 6hr drive ahead of us to play at one of our favorite clubs on the tour, Mojo Club in Hamburg. Mojo Club has been a regular return for us and always supportive of what we do opening their doors for us to play.
There’s way too much to touch on as far as highlights but I will say that we clocked in plenty of Autobahn hours and seeing some great countryside views as well as the occasional oddball truck stops that played out like scenes from horrible b-movies complete with vampires and on premise machete wielding butchers. But being on the open road with the smell of fresh air is just what the doctor ordered and definitely looking forward to doing it again next year for the 9 year anniversary tour.
