This past Saturday was the second day of spring and the perfect day to host the soft opening for the new location of Brewerytown Beats record shop. Located only a few blocks away from the previous location on Girard Ave, the new set up is more of a warehouse style situation with bins filled with records and wall shelving stuffed to the max with all sorts of 12″. There’s boxes filled with sorted and unsorted 45’s and tubs full of CD’s which made for more of a digging experience than a boutique shop experience.
Only announced with the Brewerytown Beats IG, the soft opening was more of just a way to introduce people to the new location but really turned into a fun day with plenty of people who filled their bags with records. It was the first time that I had been out to play records in public and it definitely felt great to spin for 2hrs while people enjoyed the sunny day in the new space.
